Age?
28
Where
are you from? Aberystwyth, Mid Wales
Occupation?
Admin Clerk at Bronglais Hospital
How
did you start in motorsport? I’ve always had a thing
for cars, I used to stand outside from the age of 10
watching the local road rallies passing the house, then
when I was old enough I joined a motor club and helped
out with events, marshalling and spectating, then I
did a couple of 12 cars, and went on to navigate on
road rallies, then progressed to stage events!
What
was your first stage event? Builth Showground
Have
you ever driven on a rally? Yes on a few road rallies,
but would love to drive on a stage event!
Do
you marshal or spectate? Yes, I try and marshal
a couple of times a year, we used to marshall a lot
!
How
many rallies do you do a year? Not as many as I’d
like to do, probably about 10-15
Fave
stage? It has to be stages 4 & 8 of Raven’s
Rock, Ireland and I really enjoy the last stage of the
Harry Flatters last year, that was a stage that just
came together!!!
Fave driver? James &
Petter Solberg, and I’m sure Karen will be one of them
after we’ve sat together!!!!
Fave
co-driver? Karen Morgan & Phil Mills/Nicky Grist
Good
things about rallying? You meet loads of lovely
people
Bad
things about rallying? Retiring on events and always
being skint from entry fee’s!!!
Which
drivers have you sat with? My Hubby James is my
regular driver, but have also done a number of events
with Gareth ‘Penuwch’ Richards this year, including
Ireland. Other driver have sat with on stage events
are Gary Thomas, Sean Crowley (Karen’s other half), Course car with
Dai ‘Dot’ Davies, Simon Bevan, Simon Macczak, Gwion Savill, Jonathan
Vamplew and Paul Carroll.
Best
results? 4th o/a and 1st in class with Gareth, and
6th o/a 2nd in class with James
Best
rallying memory? There’s a few, Finishing my first
Irish Rally and getting an award, The last stage of
the Harry Flatter’s last year with James and driving
on the Barcud road rally with Karen navigating for me,
we had a howl, and we finished!!
What
was your biggest accident? So far I haven’t had
a ‘huge’ one, it’s still to come
How
could you improve yourself? By getting out and doing
more rallies, and sitting with other drivers and get
fit, which is easier said than done!!!
Where
would you like to compete? Isle of Man
What
are your plans for 2006/2007? To do the 1.4 Peugeot
205 challenge with Karen, hopefully an Irish championship
with James, and some one off Forestry events.
